Frank Cason is a trusted commercial real estate developer based in Columbia, South Carolina, with over 20 years of experience across East Coast markets. He is the founder and president of Cason Development, focused on commercial development projects in South Carolina and tenant-driven growth throughout the Southeast.
Frank began his career at Colliers International, where he spent more than eight years as a senior brokerage associate and consistently ranked among the company’s top producers. In 2012, he joined Cypress Real Estate Partners as Vice President of Development, leading new projects and helping national retailers expand into Maryland, Delaware, and Connecticut.
In 2015, he launched Cason Development with a focus on both local redevelopment and national retail expansion. Since then, the company has developed properties for brands such as Taco Bell, Burger King, Dollar General, Sherwin-Williams, Express Oil, and Golden Corral. Locally, the team has led projects like the transformation of 1813 Main Street and the redevelopment of a historic church into 5th & Sloan — a mixed-use space featuring apartments, retail, and short-term rentals.
Cason Development is also behind GATHER Columbia, an open-air food hall and community space in the BullStreet District. Created in collaboration with Four Oaks Property Group and Hughes Development Corporation, GATHER adds to the city’s growing mix of food, retail, and gathering spaces.
Outside of his work in real estate, Frank is actively involved in First Presbyterian Church, where he has served in a variety of leadership roles including Elder, Deacon, and committee chair. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and Gamecock football, and lives in Columbia with his wife, Kristin, and their three children.
